Country Park 3rd Ward Family,
As you may have heard, the First Presidency and the Utah Area Presidency recently released updated guidelines for Church services to begin weekly. President McCoy has followed up with a statement that starting Sunday, September 20, 2020, we will begin weekly Sunday services.
The Country Park 3rd Ward will begin our sacrament meeting at 1:00 p.m. All are invited to attend the Sunday worship service in person or by broadcast. All are instructed to continue to wear masks and to appropriately social distance from those that are not in your immediate family. Those that are not feeling well should not attend. Members at higher risk due to age or underlying medical conditions may not be able to attend in person but will be able to participate via a broadcast of the meeting. The Sunday worship service will not include the administration of the sacrament during the broadcast. The format of the meeting will be: prelude music, opening hymn, opening prayer, speaker or speakers and closing prayer. The broadcast will then be stopped and the Sacrament will then be administered to those in the congregation. The sacrament will be administered at the meetinghouse in the same manner and with the same precautions which have been following previously. Those that do not attend the meeting can still have the sacrament at home. Please let me know if you have any difficulties getting the Sacrament at home. The meeting will be under an hour for those attending in person and even shorter for those viewing via the broadcast.
We have also been instructed to begin holding second hour meetings on Sunday over the internet. First and third Sundays will Sunday School and second and fourth Sundays will be Priesthood quorums, Relief Society, and Young Women classes. Because of the short notice and likely difficulties of setting up various classes this Sunday, we will only be broadcasting Gospel Doctrine class this week. This will allow all organizations to begin preparing and getting ready to be able to broadcast lessons going forward.
I know there will be a learning curve and likely technical difficulties as we all learn how to do what our children did for the later half of the last school year. Please be patient. I am grateful that we will once again have the opportunity to gather and worship together. I will send more information on the Sacrament Meeting and Sunday School broadcasts as I get instructed by the Stake Leadership this week.
